Local League Baseball

Local League baseball is designed for players of all abilities who want to enjoy the sport, build confidence, and learn the fundamentals in a supportive environment. It is the ideal entry point for new players and a great option for families looking for a fun, community-focused experience in a low pressure environment.

Key Features:

  • Open to all players and no tryouts required. Teams are formed to create fair and enjoyable competition for all players.

  • Emphasis on development, teamwork, and enjoyment. Coaches prioritize learning the game, teamwork, skill-building, and sportsmanship over competition or standings.

  • Local play: Teams typically play and practice within Caledonia and play once a week at away centers include but not limited to Delhi, Port Dover, Simcoe, Walsingham.

  • Shorter season commitment (mid May- mid August)

  • Lower cost (only registration fee to CMBA required)

  • One home and one away game per week and a practice
Local League is best for players who enjoy baseball but prefer a more relaxed schedule and a fun-first approach.

Rep Baseball (Competitive Baseball)

Rep baseball is a competitive program designed for players who want to challenge themselves at a higher level. It involves tryouts, dedicated training, and games against strong competition from across Southern Counties and the province.

Key Features:

  • Tryout-based selection (try out are typically in September for following season)

  • Higher level of competition and skill development as RepTeams face stronger opponents and participate in Southern Counties Rep loop and OBA sanctioned tournaments.

  • Increased commitment with potential for multiple weekly practices and games, plus weekend tournaments throughout the season.

  • Travel Requirements with games in Southern Counties and tournaments may be held in various cities within Southern Ontario and beyond. 

  • Longer season that can include winter training and season that starts the first week of May with potential to end first week of September.

  • Additional team fees maybe required. Teams may fundraise or charge fees to cover:

    • Tournaments

    • Team equipment

    • Specialized training or indoor facilities

    • Home/away jerseys

    • Team events and supplies

  • Coaching emphasizes advanced techniques, game strategy, and player growth.
