This past Sunday, the Caledonia Bears 13U A and 13U B Team Rep squads faced off in a spirited pair of intra-club games, but the real highlight of the day was the incredible sense of community and connection shared off the field.
Between the games, players, families, and coaches came together for a team BBQ and skills competition, creating an atmosphere full of laughter, encouragement, and Bears pride. The BBQ wasn’t just about the food, it was a celebration of the hard work, dedication, and relationships being built throughout the season. The skills competition gave players a chance to show off their talents in a fun, low-pressure environment, strengthening bonds between teammates and even rivals.
On the field, both teams delivered exciting performances. In Game 1, the 13U B Team Rep stormed back from a four-run deficit to edge out the U13 13U team 13–11, thanks to a huge eight-run fourth inning and strong showings at the plate and on the base paths.
In Game 2, the U13 13U team answered back in a big way with a 19–7 victory, fueled by an 11-run opening inning and 18 hits total.
While the games were competitive and action-packed, the day was about more than just wins and stats. The BBQ, the laughter, and the shared moments reminded everyone that baseball is just as much about community, connection, and having fun together as it is about competition.
A great day of Bears baseball, on and off the field.
