This past weekend, the diamond was alive with energy as eight local league teams competed in the annual Mick Sabatine U11 Memorial Tournament. Held in honor of the late Mick Sabatine, a beloved coach, father, and community member. The tournament showcased not only competitive spirit, but also the heart and sportsmanship that Mick was known for.
After a series of hard-fought games, the finals came down to an exciting showdown between Caledonia Team 1 and Caledonia Team 2. The all-Caledonia finale did not disappoint, with both teams delivering a thrilling back-and-forth battle. In the end, Caledonia Team 1 edged out Team 2 with a nail-biting 10-9 victory. The close score reflected the skill and determination on both sides, making it a memorable finish to a weekend full of baseball, teamwork, and community spirit.
