Bears went into Aylmer Saturday Aug 6,2022 for a Double Header and the team’s bats came
alive.
Game one 29-7 win was punctuated by Ethan Kett with the team’s first two home run hits of the season an estimated 339' and 324' respectively. Logan Doan, Sam Laundry and Ben Haanstra had 4 hits each.
Game two again seen Ethan Kett and Ben Haanstra leading the way. Kett finished with 2- triples and 3 – walks and Haanstra 0 – K’s, 1 – Walk and 4 hits.
Ethan Kett finished the day with 2 HR, 2 - Triples, 1- Double, 4 - walks, 0- K's and 7 - RBI.
Ben Haanstra crossed the plate an impressive 8 times today, had 8 hits, and 2 - walks
The hitting and base running was an all-around team effort and everyone chipped in for a total of 48 runs today.
These games were book ended by two strong pitching outings by the Haanstra Brothers. Lucas Haanstra pitched 5 innings in relief to earn a game one win with 4 - K's, Logan Doan started it off with 2 –k’s in the first inning.Followed by Ben Haanstra with the solo show and second game win with 3 - K's and 1-walk. Sam Landry sweat it out behind the plate all day to help anchor the team.
All and all it was a hot, sweaty and impressive day for the U15 Bears team and moves them into third place in the SCBA Standings.
